Simon Forbes
Simon Forbes has become a legend in his own lifetime. The Fellowship of British Hairdressing celebrated him for inventing hair extensions when he received the millennium award, in 2000 for his outstanding contribution to the hairdressing industry.

"It is my calling to develop products for hairdressers. I'm a hairdresser myself and I understand the needs of stylists and consumers. When I invented Monofibre hair extensions I felt there was a need for a hairdressing service where there would be no limitations.

When I came up with the idea of chemical free colour , this was again because there are obvious limitations to chemical hair colour. Because

hair colouring is the fastest growing segment in the hair industry, it made sense to develop a product that changes colouring standards."

As part of the 'Hair' exhibition in the British Natural History Museum, Simon Forbes was invited to speak in the museum's scientific centre about his invention of hair extensions.

We trace the history of Monofibre Hair Extensions from trends in the 1980s to 21st century chic.

In 2004 Simon Forbes transferred his creative hairdressing talents to a new industry and new heights. He initiated and produced the hit TV series 'The Hairdresser' featuring Lee Stafford. Due to the immense success of the first series, the sequel was launched in the autumn of 2005.
